Welcome to Antler Valley Farm

Waiting on the Trusses

2 weeks. 2 whole weeks. 2. WHOLE! WEEKS!!  That’s how long we had to wait before the trusses would arrive. That’s a L-O-N-G Time! But we had to wait.  So, we tried to get a step ahead by going shopping for the house.  I despise shopping.  Have a already mentioned that?  Well, if I’ve said it once or twice before (or more) it’s because I really do dislike shopping.  For some reason I thought house shopping might be more fun.  Umm, not really.  Especially when you take a 3 year old and a 6 year old and spend 3 hours in Home Depot.  Not Fun!  Don’t get me wrong, the kids were awesome that day.  Ok, I thought they were awesome.  We only had to make 3 trips to the bathroom and 1 trip to the front for a snack.  I thought that was great!

When we were almost done, Camden spotted some blue PVC pipe.  It was somehow calling his name, but the boy can’t carry a 10 ft. section of pipe around the store.  Well, maybe he could, but I wasn’t going to let him try.  Geez, I can only imagine what kind of damage that could lead to!

So, we compromised with a small 1 ½ inch jointed piece of pipe.  Maylin picked the same one and they immediately were transformed into storm troopers with laser guns.  They were sneaking to the end of each aisle we walked by and then jumping to the next aisle.  Occasionally, a display was a bad guy and a shoot out ensued.  I thought it was hilarious!  And the kids were loving it!

Well, apparently, some people would rather hear screaming kids than happy kids playing with a $2 pvc pipe.  Silly people.  I mean, how can you be upset when kids are using their imagination and entertaining themselves???  Without breaking stuff??  I politely thanked the lady for her advice that children should be seen and not heard and we went on our merry way.  I really do hope her day got better.

Look at those faces!!  How can that not make you smile?

Anyway, our time was well spent and we picked out a lot of great stuff and wrote down all the numbers we would need later.  When we walked out of there I was exhausted, but I was really happy to have that part done.  Maybe we are one step ahead of the game!  Maybe… I can hope anyway….

Oh my goodness, my heart is so full of love for these sweethearts!  Wow, they are precious!  Even when they are making faces….like Maylin is in this picture…I even managed to sneak Jim in this picture!  HA!
