It’s really amazing to see some of the progress we’ve made on the farm! Some days it seems like it’s taking forever, but when I look at these pictures, it reminds me of where we started and how far we’ve come. I can really see the progress in these pictures and now that some of the farm has grass growing-it really seems like progress! So, I thought I would do a before and after,… or maybe it’s a before, during, and after,…. or maybe some are before, during, during, almost now and now…Ok, I just confused myself. I’ll just say that I took some new pictures of the farm and compared it to the old pictures. Wow, that was much easier. Why didn’t I start with that??
This was the farm when we first bought it. The logging started just a week after we bought the property and we had the driveway put in at the same time. This was the view from the road of what would become our first pastures.
Jim and his dozer. He is still In Love! This is the same field that is in the above picture but it was taken from just below the driveway.
Again, this is the same field after Jim went to work with his mad dozer skills…and knocked down nearly all the trees.
After the dozer always came the brush piles that had to be burned.
Again, this is the same field that Jim cleared with the handy dandy dozer. After we burned the brush piles it looked really different.
This picture was taken from the road almost a year later. No more brush piles!

This picture just astounds me! I can’t believe it’s the same place!!

This was the house site just after we had it graded in early 2016.

OK, when I was looking through pictures to compare the progress, I came across a few I just had to share. Hey, a Mom’s gotta do what a Mom’s gotta do! Sorry, kiddos! Just for cuteness, I had to throw in these next before and after photos!
This picture was taken in March 2016. The kids had a blast running around after the house site had been cleared and graded to perfection.
This picture was taken in May 2017 at the house site. They now have grass to hide in and play their jungle games. You can always see Maylin’s smile. I love that little tiger!
This picture was also taken in May 2017. I had to throw it in here too because Camden’s little face cracks me up. I can’t remember what I said to him, but it must’ve been somewhat confusing to him. Poor little guy with a crazy momma! I love that little fella!
That blank spot above was reserved for the picture of Maleah playing with them in the grass. For some reason when she saw me with the camera she walked away. I guess I’ll have to be a little stealthier next time. I love that elusive, camera shy beauty anyway though!
